I don't get the obsession with the bags made by most designers. And I can't seem to find the bag I need and want: a simple leather carry all with an interior pocket set for the basics I carry, a closure at the top so I won't lose anything, and the ability to sling it over one shoulder comfortably using one arm.
I personally don't like a lot of fussy details, which make a bag look over-designed. Again, as I've mentioned elsewhere in this blog, the fashion industry's standard of slightly changing small details on basic silhouettes seems like they're cheating.
On the other end of the spectrum, some of the outlandish, garish, and downright dare I say, satanic, garments being sent down the runways at the time of this writing are agreeably ridiculous and not about clothing but rather pushing an agenda through the medium of fashion.

Somewhere in between too much and pathological are where hand bags should be. So I'll be making the bag I'm always on the lookout for but never find.
I have the soft, plyable leather already. I know what my design will be. It's a matter of creating a space out of the wind and dust where my sewing machine and serger can sit and I can create.
